Hey Guy's, it's been awhile since I last posted, I know it's not a stang but what was the output of a 88 Lincoln 5.0, was it 190hp?

It may be the same block but the intake on the one I was looking at a few minutes ago is different and the throttle body looks like it belongs on a go-cart.

WHAT KIND OF LINCOLN???

The Mark VII LSC had the same exact engine/chassis as the mustang and had a rated 225 horsepower.

The other Non-HO engines had something like 150 horsepower. They had an emission friendly camshaft, poor intake manifold, cylinder head design (high swirl), exhaust design was horrible too with cast iron manifolds and 2.25" or 2" exhaust.

Default Lincoln

It's a 1988 Lincoln Town Car, I have had 9 5.0 Mustangs and I can tell you there is no way this Lincoln has 225 horsepower.

From my past experience with those 5.0s, most of them (maybe even all of them) have the same block, crank, and rods as their HO counterparts. However, the rest of the engine left alot to be desired. As mentioned earlier, the cam was very mild and the rest of it was built to be a dependable grocery getter and nothing more. The pistons are not forged either. They are some stock flattop piston not made for an HO application. I've found them to be a great source of spare rods for HOs(just be sure to check the casting numbers). I paid $35 for the last one of those 5.0s I bought. So, for $35 I got a good block, crank, 8 rods, timing cover, etc... A cheap way to start a good HO buildup.
