Default Garret t-60 turbo kit

I found one for 2500.00 brand new. I have a fi 306 and a carbed 347. I dont know anything about how to pick a tubo size. Does anybody know if this turbo will work better on one of my motors than another. Both are 5 speed, i'm considering switching to an auto in one. . This sounds like a good deal, if i knew how it would work.

That turbo is big enough for either engine. I would probably put it on the 347 with an efi set up to get the most out of it.

That is a hell of a deal.

i've called two different shops, car tech and hp and both say this is a little turbo capable of 500 or so hp? my 347 makes close to that now on a 100 shot. My vorteched 306 makes close to that also, @ 11psi. I dont see a substantial gain to be had for 2500.00 A t-70 is what the shops said i'd need to see generous hp and torque gains.

I dont agree but I am no expert.

My brothers T3/T4 hybrid on a 3.0 V6 puts out 450 HP.

Well, I guess for comparison, I have paid about $5000 for my Kit including all the support stuff I needed(MSD, Fuel Pump, Etc.) a T-60 is good to 600HP i belive (Turbomustangs.com would know). I have ridden in a Turbo stang and a SC stang. I know why I got the turbo, it just hits so much lower than the SC. Espically a smaller one like a T-60 will spoll up fast. Who makes the Kit? Is it intercooled? Any Pics?

i dont know who made the kit, and it is not intercooled. I think i'm gonna buy the ys trim upgrade instead. 1000.00 instead of 2500. I think i'll get more out of the ys than the 60mm turbo. What do you guys think

Good Lord. Here's what I think you should do. Plop down the $2500 for the turbo, give it to me, and I'll pay you back in about five years. Yeah. Yeah. That sounds good to me. What d'ya think, John?

Yeah, sure. 'Cause you know I'm not putting the turbo on the Mustang...I was wanting to put it on the Geo.

If it is not intercooled, it is not worth it.

Naww....the Geo's modified. You've never been in the Geo, eh John? I got the special wax job at the car wash and the super aerodynamic wheel covers. It's slicker than a wet fart. And I removed the spare and put a high flow paper filter in it. Not to mention the high grade 86 octance street fuel I use. With the turbo, I should decimate all as long as I don't melt my intake welds or blow a hole in my floor board.

Put on some hi flow winchield wipers man. If you run it to the edge and get that warning bell, just yell shut up, and slam the laptop shut and lay into the second stage

Yeah, forgot. I've already got some high performance Wally Mart X-treme flow blade shells on it.

I don't run a lap top. Those are for sissies. I have a 1995, 150Mhz Dell Tower of Power strapped into the passenger seat with bungies. One thing, though. It's a real son of a bit** to mount a 14" VGA monitor to the dash.

And the car doesn't have a warning bell. It has a vibrating alert like those new-fangled cellular phones. Once I break 77.52 mph, the back wheels start to shimmie like such, and you can feel it in your britches. I'm pretty hard-core, so I ignore it and push the beast up to 80 mph PLUS.

John,

Well, I got the AC clutch/pulley swapped out on the stang, so I have cold air now. Also swapped the stock crank pulley back on to help with my overheating problems. I took it out for a test run, and all is good. I get back to the garage, open the hood, listen, and hear an sporadic click/snap sound with a slight miss. Got to looking, and the number 6 and 7 plugs wires are arcing to the header from the boot. Let it cool down, pulled off the plug wires, and there's some nice new heat blisters in my nice new FMS wires. So, I gotta get some new wires and some boot sheilds. It never ends. I'm gonna go ahead and get a new flexible dipstick tube as well so I can get the tube away from the number 6 wire/plug.
