Rear seat delete for an '84 GT?
There are never people in my backseat so I figure why not make it look better and get a rear seat delete kit. Problem is, who sells one for an '84? Dugans sells one for '87-'93 cars that "require modifications for '86 and earlier cars" but does anyone sell them for earlier model GTs?

The only difference i noticed between the seats in my '91 mustang and my '84 was that the retaining piece for the lower seat was slightly different so the seats wouldn't interchange (same seat, different rails on the bottom). You should email them and see exactly what they mean, it may not be anything major. good luck!

Rear seat deletes usually consist of parts to make the two seater thing look like it was factory. I'm not exactly sure what makes the kits up, but I've seen some Saleen SSCs before that looked totally stock and bad @ss. After you install the kits you usually have to go to an interior shop and have them carpet it over with the factory color.

Ok...here's the deal on the Dugan's kit. To use it I'd need the interior trim panels from a post-'87 Fox Body car and I'd need to remove the armrest from the center console. Interior panels are no problem (once I find out what the hell they are. Hehe) but I absolutely positively cannot remove the armrest from my car.

http://www.dugan-racing.com I think. The kits run about $250 I believe.

This is just what I did... I read it somewhere on the net. What you need- Carpet enough to cover the back seat and rear cargo area, some stainless steel staples, and a piece of the kind of stuff that covers your spare (the particle board or something). The particle board us put on top of the place where the rear seat went to stop the carpet from sinking and I am sure you can figure out the rest. The 93 Cobra R had this I believe. Use some industrial velcro and a hot glue gun to hold it down. I did this and it looks great because I replaced the whole carpet at the same time so it would match.
