oil pump drive shaft
Guy's and Gals's I need some help. I just installed a new r302 block in my 95 mustang and I got it running. But Because of my big fuel rail I have to remove the distubrator to adj. timing if more then 10 gre. Well now the probelm comes I had the time set on 14 deg and install the superchrager and I run timeing on 2 deg with the supercharger installed so i had to remove the distributor, when I did the oil pump drive shaft come out with the districutor. Can anyone tell me how to reinstall the drive shaft from top instead of pulling the motor back out Any suggestion would be appricated. Thanks

Did you install the retaining clip on the shaft? It should not have come out.
I have heard of people getting luck with a long pair of needle nose or a magnet.

You should be able to just lower it in.
Use a 1/4" drive socket with THINwall sockets. I used those to prime the pump. If you use grease to hold it in the socket, then heat the grease enough to make it soft and slippery, it'll let go...
