next mods...
I am looking to add a few new mods, here is a list of current mods:
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, trick flow street heat intake, 24# injectors, pushrods, fuel pump, fuel regulator, 3.55's, pullies, full exhaust equal shorties offroad h, 3 core radiator, 1.7 rocker arms, MAF, Throttle body, subframes and few other small things... Dyno rwhp 279@5200 - torque 309@4400 looking to put a cam in for sure, just need advise of which cam for my combination and other mod is possibly gear driven timing, figured with the cam going in now would be the best time for a gear drive if there ever is one. Dont know if the gear drive is worth the money? car has 105,000 on it now. does 302 have any bad history with thier timing chains? let me know what u guys think... thanks |

I just swapped heads and cam, the timing chain was a hair longer (stretched) over a high mileage period of time, i just replaced the chain, and not the sprockets.
if you got 279 rwhp from stock cam, that is pretty impressive imo. if your gonna keep the 1.7 rr's, id suggest the e-cam, thats what i run with 1.7's, and stock pistons, runs strong. p.s, if your car gets revved up alot, go ahead and get the frpp true roller timing chain, i just got the stock replacement chain, works good so far.
