Cool Front seat swap...who's done it?

I'm looking for some advise as to what seats look and fit the best in a 65' stang. So, who here has replaced their front seats, and what did you use?

I've been looking around for some different seats for my 65. Scats look good but are kinda expensive. From what I've been told the 69-70 seats will fit and they have headrests, little more side support, and may have recline. On ebay there are seats occasionally but are around $100 and need to be recovered.
Good Luck

My 69 Deluxe seats do not recline. I can only push them forward for the reason of letting ppl in the back seat. I am not sure if they fit but my 1969 Mach 1 seats were shot, I'm getting them redone by a guy who works on Cougars and Mustangs. 600-700 Canadian I believe to get them redone. Which is basicly just the seat covers and installation.

OK, here goes. I had a set of 88 seats in my 66. They were real close to direct bolt in, just had to drill new holes in the seat base to mount the 66 tracks.
I now have 2001 Mustang seats in my 66. They were a little trickier. The bases are not even and are not the same driver to passenger side. I had to make a spacer, drill new holes in the seat base, and mounted my tracks. I also move the tracks so the seat will move farther back for me (6'1") and still be able to move close enough for my fiance (5')

Thumbs up

Hey gp001:

What seats are those, the 88's or the 01's?

BTW, I like your gauge setup. Did you make that yourself?

Those seats are the 2001's. They are MUCH better than the 88's. The 88's sat up too high (the base was "thicker" from floor to seat) and they had the side bolsters and lumbar support which (I felt) made them uncomfortable.
The gauge cluster is the CNC aluminum unit made by JME Enterprises . I then put Autometer Phantom Gauges in

My friend just put a set of Scat ~ Procar seats in his 66 coupe. You can get them at mustangsplus.com and are easy to install. They're very adjustable and look totally custom and bada$$. They also do a great job holding you in place when you're out carving corners. At $699 they are a little pricey...but worth it in my opinion.

hope this helps
