Default Did the 85 convertible come with a 302?

A buddy just got one with a v8 and I could not remember if that year was an actual 302 or that odd ball size block ford put in them. I think it was like a 260 or something like that.Ddoes that make sense or am I out in left field flappin?

Never mind think I figured it out was the older model with the 255. The 85 came with the 302 roller motor.

1981 was the only year since 1968 that a v8 smaller than 302 wasn't standard
until of course 1996

Absolutely! A 1985 Gt came with a 5.O roller. No questions asked....

The 1985 GT came with 3 different 5.0 engines. Early model 1985 GT's equipped with an automatic transmission had a weaker version of the CFI 5.0 engine without the roller cam rated at 180hp. From my understanding, the later 1985 GT's with the automatic did get a roller cam 5.0, but they still kept the CFI, and those engines made a bit more power. All the T-5 equipped GT's came with a roller 5.0 and a 4bbl carb, and were rated at 210hp.

The 5 speeds also got the good "SD" cam used through 1988.
