Default Reloacting to Florida!

Well on the 18th, me and my g/f are packing our cars and moving to Florida to be with her mom. My car is at my mechanic having everything we can think of done to it so it makes the trip to Florida! We are stopping in Roanoke Rapids, NC on that Sunday night to stay at a motel and then leaving early Monday morning to get to Sebring, Florida by monday night. It's going to be a 20+ hour total drive. I hope I don't break down!! Everyone wish us luck! Thanx!

Matt

GOOD LUCK!!!

There's a cool Mustang car club in Tampa that you might want to look into! Check out the link in my sig.

Take care,

If you're traveling down I-95 thru the Washington, DC area, I suggest you take the Rt 5/301 exit just South of DC. before crossing the Potomac River entering VA.

The I-95/395 area in VA is a construction nightmare until many miles down I-95 Southbound. Traffic tie-ups and delays sometimes are horrendous.

Rt. 5/301 is not a superhighway, but you can make good time on it. You will hit I-95 just North of Richmond. I travel this route every time I go to FL, and I live near the Rt. 5/301 exit.

Take a look at you DC area map, and hollar if I can help.

Hey thanx alot for the heads up! We should be going through that area somewhere around 3 in the afternoon on Sunday. So we may have to go that way. If my memory serves me correctly, doesn't it basically loop around??

There is a beltway around DC, I-95/495 that you'll hit North of DC. You can go either into VA or MD from that point, but a little shorter the MD route.

Probably if you hit the I-95/395 interchange just South of DC by 3 PM, you'll be OK, but much later than that, I think you'll find it slow going, even on Sunday. You have lots of folks going thru there. They have the lanes all screwed up from the construction, and it slows traffic considerably.

So, if you're on the beltway I-95/495 on the MD side and traffic starts bogging down, Rt 5, (exit 5) to 301 South is your last bail-out point before entering VA.

Have a good safe ride and let us know when you get to FL.
Lots of plain trooper cars from VA on down to FL too!
