I'm FINALLY bored at work. I've been in meetings all morning and didn't get lunch until 2:15 PM. Being bored is a nice change of pace today.

If a perfectly stright line only touches a perfect circle at one point and a point does not exisit. It is just a representation. If we made perfect circle tires and a perfectly stright line roads would we be floating???? How would we stop?
Something to think about at work.

What the hell does that mean? Anyway....
My dad just moved to Aiken, SC!!! I'm going to be going down there the end of this month for a week in a half or so for vacation. If you see a new Audi A6 driving around with a short, kind of salt and pepper haired man driving it...say hi. Last edited by msunickb; 05-01-2003 at 03:55 PM.. |

ya it is a tangent but it never touches because a point does not exist. What part of aiken did he move to? It is a small town.

A point?
There is a point on that arc where ithe tangent does touch. The truth is that the tire "flattens" to create a contact patch on the pavement. Therefore no true arc is ever present and therefore not a "point". That "contact patch" is an area with a coefficient of friction that provides traction that we performance "nuts" so appreciate.

Hey GodStang, he moved near or in a golf subdivision of some sort. I think its called Cedar Creek but I couldn't remember, just found that searching the web. I'm 90 percent sure though. In fact I think he is moving into his house today or tomorrow. They moved down there about 2 weeks ago and rented an appt. because his house wasn't done yet.
From the few pictures I've seen it not only looks like a small town but a pretty cool one. |

That was one of the biggest reasons I bought a house as soon as I could after I turned 21, I had a 95 prelude living in an appt. and people were always f**king with my car. Mostly kids with parents that didn't give a damn unfortunately.

Wow, thats crazy. I had something similar the other day looking through a stang newsgroup, a guy that said he had just moved to the Grand Rapids area (where I live) ended up living about 4 or 5 blocks from me. He stopped by last weekend w/his stang while I was out washing mine.
Its a small world! |
