Anyone get ragged on at work for driving a Ford?
There are 2 guys at work who make it their 'daily job' to rag on my Mustang, or my old F-150.
I get so tired of hearing it! They want to race my stock GT with built out the a-- 454 Camaros. I try to ignore them but they just keep it up, day after day. btw they never seem to drive their pos Camaros to work. They tell me they're still building them. Hum, hahaha, it's just nerve racking. Just wondering.

I do. they think imports are the best b/c they, for example, had bad experiences with old dodges. So they base there entire way of thinking from that experience. But they're pretty cool guys. Mostly jokes though. I don't get tired of or angry them cause I know they're just joking and furthermore, I am secure in what I drive.

I get it all the time to. All the guys here drive 1st gen camaros, and chevelle's. They always say how fords break down and how they cost more to build then a chevy.
These are old timers though (late 40's to late 50's) and they always talk about big blocks and 700r4's and how they rule the road. It's kind of funney because whin I see them on cruise nights they never wan't to line them up against my sbf. I even envite them to the track and they don't come. One of these day's I'll catch them at a stoplight.

No Marty, I don't. Of course that may be due to the fact that it's my Ford that I roll up to the jobsite in when arriving to fix their broken vehicle (as far as general repair goes, I repair more imports than anything else. They break down all the time).
Take care, -Chris

I get ragged on, but I guess I have it coming since I work for GM. Its okay tho, because they guys in my area know that the 5.0 mustangs are quick and after I tell them what's done to mine, they never bother me too much about it. All I usually hear is how Fords rust... since my car is in desparate need of a body job.

Not usually, but when people talk trash I will usually tell them if they want to race I will go get my lil 4-banger import and race them for money.

A few use to rag on me. There are a few guys at work who race, dirt track. There all Chevy guys.
One of the other managers has a LS-1 Camaro (the guy who had the 2000 Z28, then the 98 Cobra, and now the 99LS-1.) and he use to talk mad trash. I beat him in Z28. I beat his 98 Cobra several times, and now he just talks trash but wont line them up again. Hmmmmm..Now the guys at work dont talk trash about the Mustangs. Now they talk trash about the other manager. I've challenged him infront of like everyone, only for him to chicken out.

Talkin' trash
Anyone get ragged on at work for driving a Ford?
Nope. I just tell them my nickname is 'Mr. 5.0' and that usually does it. Seriously, most of my co-workers drive imports, beaters or ancient, worn-out Monte Carlos and Camaros that even they hate. Everybody likes my '90 LX as it's old enough to be interesting but still a viable street-runner. No one wants to race but they all want to see me do burn-outs. Too bad. |

One guy at the old job used to. He had a 72ish Chevelle and was always saying "found on road dead" Ford sucks, etc etc. He never did win a race with that Chevelle against the LX. Even then, he was always talking smack. Every day. Day in and dayout.
Then, one day, he said "the car I'm building will destroy your 5.0". I have heard this one before, so I said drive it in and then we will talk. About 3 months later he showed up with a 69 fastback with a rebuilt 351. He and a group of guys were talking smack again about how slow the 5.0 was. Time to talk. The only thing I said to him was "If you can't beat em, join em". The look on his face was priceless. Turns out he traded the 'running fine' Chevy for the Mustang (even though the Mustang didn't run). He had to drive his parents car while he fixed up the Stang.

My 2 good friends are always putting down Ford, but they love my stang, they just put down stuff after 1974 and Ford. There both GM fans, but one is a part ricer so I can put him down fast. I tell them both when your ready to race then just give me a call. =) One has a Cadillac, & Oldmobile and the other a Celeberity. I don't understand what they are talking about in being Anti-Ford. Either way I put them down everytime I see a Chevy dieing. lol =) And there in self denial that Ford owns Aston Martin. They just say they hate Ford Motor Company. lol But I know come summer they'll be lining at my door for a ride. lol
Let them be jealous of Ford, §am.

I dont really ever hear much about it. Even though i am one of the very few guys that has a ford. Alot of them think it is cool though cause they are into older cars and drag racing and stuff so they respect me for that.

There was this one guy who used to brag about his GMC Jimmy all the time. He always refered to my car as a damn ford, so one day I asked him if he wanted to run his jimmy. OF course he made up some excuse like his timing was off or something. Then he brought something up about hooking them up. I was like what the hell is that, and he said "lets tie a chain between em and see who can pull. I was like $@## this. To this day he still wont run.

yeah i getted ragged on cause i own 2 Fords. my 90 LX and my 89 Escort. these are the only 2 Fords that i own, and my co workers think im a total Ford guy. they bust my chops about it all the time. i owned more Toyotas than any other vehicle, but now when a Ford comes in the tell the customers, to "speak to the Ford expert over there." i was like WTF?

I get ragged on everyday! the guys i work with(even my boss)are all big block chevy and pontiac fans. all i ever hear about is ho "gay" my green car is, and how slow it is! i just shrug it off cuz the stuff the have cant be driven on the street an the 1 camaro that can be street wont stay runnin long enough to even be considered as a threat!
BTW did i mention i used to be a chevy guy? i used to rag on stangs all the time cuz they all looked the same.(doh!) but after going to the track for my very first time i discovered that a fox car was rather inexpensive and a helluvalot cheaper to build than an F-body. now i wouldnt give up my "green" car for anything!
