Gas mileage - I think mine is low
On my last 2 tanks of gas I have only gotten about 375 Kms (235 miles) each tank. The car has 9000 kms on it, I have only had the car since about 8,000 kms. The driving has been about 65% city - 35% highway. Just wondering what some other people are getting from their 4.6L's ?
Thanks. ------------------ My 2000 Mustang GT

If I'm nice I can get 23-24 mpg. If I have fun I have gone as low as 15-16 mpg overall.

I have the identical setup in 99 trim. When my car was at 8K I,d average about 290 to 325 K/40 liters. the type of driving is about 60% highway 40% city. My highway speed is usually around 120 - 140KPH. Take that sucker back to the dealer. This is my 4th G.T since 82 and they,ve always been in this range.
Good luck, lewillie ------------------ 99/ Silver GT 4.6 SOHC M.S. headers 3.27 |

I am lucky if I get more than 230 miles to a tank full. I drive 60/40 city/hwy. The other day I filled up with 92 instead of my usual 89 and I only got 190!!! But I drive my pony hard. I am always sitting high in the RPMs, just in case I need to "jump".

With my 96GT on my recent road trip I was getting 400+ km per tank, it worked out to 30 mpg on the highway. That was cruising around 110-115 km/h. Around the city I was getting about 23 mpg.

Well here is an update on my last tank of gas. I filled up yesterday and put 50 liters (about 11 gal.) in. I got 440 KM (275 miles) out of that 50 liters so I figure thats about 25 MPG. I have been a little easier on the throttle and did more highway driving. Looks like I am getting about normal mileage now.
Thanks for the replies. ------------------ My 2000 Mustang GT
