good sputter good
Hello. I've had this problem for a while and haven't solved it. Everytime I start my engine it runs great for about 2 minutes, then out of nowhere my idle will drop and I'll lose power. After about 30 seconds everything goes back to normal until I turn off and restart the engine again. If I give the car any throttle whats so ever during the 30 seconds of humiliation, it feels like I've droped cylinders. It's hard to diagnose this problem becuase it happens briefly. I've ruled out a few things like my fuel pump and mass air, EGR, AIB, MSD and TPS since they would show more consistent problems. I don't get a check engine light and when I took the car to the local dealership, the Ford computer showed the car is running rich when the problem arose. HHHHMMMMMMMMMMMM
HELP! What should I do? Where should I look? Thanks |

I messed up and left some stuff out at the end of my post. What I meant to say is that I took the car to the local ford dealership and hooked it up to diagnostics. The test showed that the car was running rich when the problem arose. Thats all. hmmm

Update
Alright. I tried the check engine light test and these are the codes I get:
11=System checks OK. 33=EGR did not open / respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittently - EVP EVR PFE. 87=Fuel pump circuit fault (check enertia switch)- Power / Fuel Pump Circuits. 91=System running lean- Fuel control 96=Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power- Power / Fuel Pump circuits. Oddly enough the car has been running fine for today but I don't trust it. I don't understand why I would get the fuel pump errors if the car doesn't shut off while driving. It would only sputter really bad for 20 seconds or so then it would feel rich. My fuel pressure needle vibrates alot and it never used to before. Any help what to look for using these codes? Thanks |
