WHOO HOO!!! Won me some $$$
Well, I just got back from downtown Detroit where a long time friend of mine took me for a belated birthday gift (dinner down at the Greektown Casino). We went to the casino to eat at the Alley Grill and also gamble a little. I have only been to three casinos in my life (Greektown once before, MGM here once, and the Atlantis in the Bahamas) and I've never played anything but a few $.25 slot machines when I went before. Well, my friend is good at Craps and Roulette, so I wanted to try playing those and Blackjack. I had told him he needed to show me the ropes while we were there.
Well, we played slots first for a while. The first thing we did was get on a couple nickel slots and while playing my first $10 bucks I hit on that machine for $40 bucks. So, I cashed out. Later, we were playing on some fifty cent slots and I then hit for $80 on that one. So, I moved from that machine to the one on the other side of the one my friend was playing on. Someone else had just left it and moved a couple machines down after not hitting anything on it for a while. So, I started on it... Well, I was playing one $.50 pull per time (instead of the max 2x$.50) and just three pulls in I jackpotted the damn thing!! I won 1000 coins on it ($500!). I almost couldn't believe it, and my friend was freaking out before I even realized that the three diamonds I got were the jackpot. Man, you know that guy that just left it was not happy a couple machines down from me. So, then we ate dinner and came back to play some table games. I gave my friend $40 of my loot to buy in on the craps table. He played some money on hard six, hard eight, and soft six and eight. He hit the first throw and was up $100 dollars. He played quite a while and cashed out up a decent amount. We then went to the roulette table. We bought in there with $60 dollars in chips and played there for quite some time. We ended up cashing out there in the end up about $50 bucks. After that, we went to the Blackjack table finally. I bought in with $100 in chips ($15 table). I walked away after playing for about an hour more than doubling my money ($250). So, in the end I had a great day, and belated birthday, from my friend. I gambled for six hours, had an awesome dinner (20 oz. steak dinner and wine), and won like $800 to boot! SWEET!

That is so cool!! Congrats!!
The only time I really won a lot of money was on a .25 slot in Reno, I hit the jackpot and won $2500. I totally freaked out. |

Man you got lucky! My first and only time gambling was up in Tahoe on Easter. I didn't win crap on slots or Blackjack. I think I lost about $160 in an evening.

That is pure sweetness!! Congrats man! Your broke *** deserves it too!
I don't like to gamble at all. I'm just too darn greedy with the little cash I do have. I'd rather sink it into my engine compartment than into a slot machine. But I DO love those free drinks. hahaha! Glad you got away for a bit. Now you just need to do it more often.

Yeah, it was cool to hit a jackpot. My friend scolds me for saying this, but it would have been cool if I had put TWO coins in the thing instead of the one. The jackpot would have been a $1000 then. Oh well, I'm more than happy any ways. I did really well all the way around.
Yeah Darius... Feels good to be a winner for a change! ahahahaha But, no free drinks here Nicolle. At the local casinos you only get water and pop for free, and you still have to pay for any drinks with alcohol (beer, mixed drinks, etc).

Man I could use some luck like that. I only go to Vegas every couple years or so, it takes that long for the sting to wear off.
Oh ya...Happy Birthday!
