Post B&M Ripper or Hurst?

i have a 96 GT/5-speed. I was wondering if anyone else has either of these brand shifters. I was glued to the B&M but then I saw my friends shifter in his 93 LX 5.0 and it was NICE! real short clean shifts. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
