New track results!!! WOOOHOOO!!!!!
OK, I am a little excited.
Track conditions were decent. About 80-85 degrees, Kinda humid. (Michigan in July usually is) but not too terrible. My first passes were on motor. I left at idle because this track is slipperier than Norwalks waterbox. I also opted not to powershift my new trans. First run I felt out the track to a 12.98 @ 111.35 with 2.09 60 ft. Next came a 13.24 @ 112.13 with a 2.26 60 ft. The last motor pass gave me a 12.81 @ 112.38 with a 2.04 60 ft. Then I opened the bottle. First pass was a 12.2 @ 122.22, with a 2.10 60 ft. Next came a 12.11 @ 123.10 with a 2.07 60 ft. Then the dinger!!!! My last pass of the day after the car was sitting for about an hour. 11.89 @ 123.21. with a 1.98 60 ft. I made the last pass late in the day and got to run by myself so I could concentrate on my launch more. I think that helped. So fixing my heads helped. My previous 111 trap speeds were on a much cooler day.(about 65 degrees) and I usually would go 109-110 and get a freak 111 or so every now and then. Now they are all up there. And I gained one mph on the spray on top of it being about 20 degrees hotter. My timing was set @ 15 degrees on motor and spray, I had 12 psi in my Drag radials, and was shifting @ 5500 rpm. Now If I could just burn up these damn drag radials so I can get some ET Streets!!!!! |

Glad to hear your times. It's a nice feeling to have an 11.xx sec street car, ain't it? Welcome to the 11.xx sec club!!! Nice to have you.
BTW, ET Streets suck on the street. They ride to harsh. But to each his own, right? |

Is that the Ford Superfest? I saw that last year. It was pretty cool. I got my 31 spline traction lock brand new there for a hundred bucks.

Damn your gaining 11mph on a 100shot of spray! Damn its working good.
123mph traps, **** , I can't even imagine how fast that must feel. I gotta get my car back together. And running. It really should go low 12's on motor. Its startin to piss me off. Im gonna have to do something to it here pretty soon . And get this damn N20 working. How come you run such little air pressure in those Drag Radials? i have always heard never to run lower than 15 psi. |

HA!!! This pig is out of the 12's!!!!
The crazy thing is that my friend went 11.0 @ 120 with a 1.59 60 ft on slicks! That was on a 150 shot. On motor he was 13.0's @ 104 mph. So with 150 jets and some slicks I think I could get a 10 second slip. I hope anyway. Sky, I am kinda used to driving my car so it does not seem that fast. But when I watch a car trap 120 or more at the track it does look like it's haulin' balls. If you have any questions about your spray, let me know. I would love to help if I can. BTW, Isin't it funny to watch 14 second cars run down the track? They look kinda like they are just cruising down the freeway. My combo is an 88 GT with a T-5 lightened up to a 3000 lb track weight. I have a stock shortblock add an E-303. I also have ported TFS heads, A GT-40 intake with a ported lower, 65 mm t.b., K&N in the stock air box, C&L 73, 24 lb injectors, pulleys, 3.73. Equal length headers to 2 chamber Flowmasters with dumps. My suspension is 90/10's, 50/50's, Eibach drag kit, no swaybar, with Weld big and littles. (275/60/15) Drag radials. Also an NOS dry kit with approximately 100 hp jets installed. I started @ 18 psi in the tires and dropped them run after run to 12 psi. I got my best pathetic 1.98 60 ft with 12 psi. The track I go to really sucks. The traction is known to be horrible. I went by myself to this track last minute because it's close to my house. ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT 11.8 @ 123 (7/14/01) 1992 BadAzz Wrangler 1993 Explorer |

Lol, 14 sec cars.....You guys should have been at Norwalk last weekend. I've never seen so many 15/16 sec 5.0 and 4.6 mustangs. It was pretty sad, trap speeds in the low 80s . Talk about intimidation .

Skyman-it's a 85 351w stock crank, rods, keith black hypers, carbed with a victor jr intake, and topped with lightly touched dart srs.(255-260 intanke 180-190 exhaust flow) tremec with a 4.30 gear. I've gone 11.73@123 1.81 60' on my drag radials since they spin which builds mph. All my other times are on 26x11.5 et streets. I've gone 131 on a 28" slick on spray, but I'm too cheap to buy a set so when I spray it on the 26" I run out of motor. Best mph on the 26 and spray in 128(from norwalk over the weekend) The cars not a full weight vert I have a tubular k-member and some weight has been taken out.
exgmguy- I may be going to Lapeer or Ubly Saturday..let me know if you want to come with...I'll let you make a few passes on my et streets ------------------ 351w, tremec trans 11.44@120 n/a 10.82@129 on the hose |
