Post 9inch rear end install

I plan on removing my worn 7.5 rear from my 83'5.0 and add a brand new ford 9inch complete assembly.Has anyone out there done this?( I'm sure). I like to know what type of problems might arise and can I handle this alone?

How are you going to get a brande new Ford 9" rear? They haven't made them forever. They take alot of power away too, due to more rotation mass. I would just stick with an 8.8, then all the brackets will line right up.

FRPP offers a complete complete 9inch rear with axels and it's powder coated too. So you don't think this will bolt right on?

I would think that you would have to weld your own brackets on. There is some companys that sell the rear housings with everything welded up to fit in a FOX. The only thing is that you have to find a center cection(pumpkin) to fill the rear, and those aren't easy to find.
