Just for speeding 25 over the speed limit? I was caught doing 65 in a residential 25 speed limit area and got fined $187 including traffic school and no points added. Wonder what they would have done to me if they would have caught me doing 125 in a 35 at 3 am? Good thing I was too far for those flashing lights behind (wipes forehead and thanks god) . I think it's time to drive speed limit.

DAMN!!! That is harsh man.
I was in court too the other day and saw this guy in our Canadian courts debating a ticket for going 180km/h (110MPH) in a 100kmh (65MPH)... this idiot was saying that when he runs at equal speeds he tends to fall asleep so that's why he accelerates to these speeds. All the cops and people in court where chuckling. The judge threaten the guy to get evalutated by doctors... but the eediot managed to weezel out of it. |

She could have had priors.
Fostang - I'm surprised you got traffic school. Usually if you're ove 20 MPH over the speed limit you're not eligible. We were talking about this at work the other day. Drag racing cost one of the guys almost $2000 in fines and court costs, restricted license, and insurance that more than doubled. It's making me think twice before I play stoplight wars around here. ------------------ 86 GT, GT40P heads, Crane 2031, 1.7 RR's, Cobra intake, 65mm TB, 73mm Vortech, 24# injectors, MAC GT40P headers, 2-1/2" BBK H-pipe (w/cats), Flowmasters, 3.55s, Groundpounder subs and lower control arms, 277 RWHP. http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?1537 |

i guess sometimes it depends on the cop that stops you and your attitude toward them.
about 13 years ago my brother got busted going 95 in a 55 on in pa. they revoked his liscense on the spot and dragged him in for reckless driving. same state about 2 years later i got pulled over going in excess of 120(speedo only goes to 100, but the speed was confirmed by the cop ). i got off with a warning! ------------------ 99 30th annv. Maybe you guys remember a while back I got pulled over doing 110mph in a 65. I was just crusing down the 101 from san francisco to Ojai. She wrote me up for 90mph and I'm taking traffic school for it soon.
Ive never had a ticket in the stang. That was my one and only in my integra. I'm just careful and dont take any unnecessary risks. Skyman, that Integra will do a 110 top end? I'm impressed with that 4 banger.

OK, Ok, I'm just going to have to take my wifes 300 ES out after hours and do a top end run on 288. I'll just maybe give her an extra glass of wine on Sat. night and put her to bed early (the wife, not the car). If the 210 HP V-6 does more than 120 top end, I'll be truly surprised. Just hope I don't get caught, or I'll be in a world of "whoop-*** ". I just can't imagine these cars having the power to do much better than this.

My 1977 Mustang II with the 139hp 302 put up a 117mph top speed run. It was limited to 106mph before some RX-7 forced me into the ditch ripping my muffler off.
