Question about gelcoat on fiberglass hood. Please help!
I had a friend of mine spray my fiberglass hood for me(It was another color). He sanded it down to the fiberglass. When he sprayed the primer it seemed to look fine but when he applied the base coat it reacted(looked like it fish-eyed) on the driver's side.He sanded it down again this time when he painted it, it reacted on the passenger side. My question is did he sand off the gelcoat and if so is it necessary to have to put a new layer of gelcoat before he primes it and paints it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds to me like either the primer and the paint were incompatable, or the surface wasn't clean when it was painted.
