Default Rear axle bulid up?

Would I be better of buying an 8.8 that is used and building it up or is this a part that I should buy new? It is for a 1994 and want to put in 3.73.

Also is Moser 31-spline axles any good with moser c/clip elimnator?

What else do I need to build a strong strretable rearend.

Thanks in advance.

Use C-clip axles if it's going to be a street car. 31 spline Moser or Strange would be fine, what horsepower will you be running?

We're in the process of doing our rear in our 88 GT, and I've read C-Clip eliminators should be use for 1/4 mile cars, they have a tendancy to leak on daily drivers.

You can build up your current rear. why buy a new one or a used one?

You need an Auburn Pro, 31 spline STREET axles (no c-clip eliminators for the street) and some good gears, and youll be all set.

can buy the aluminum cover also if you want, with the bearing cap set screws.

I believe he has a 7.5" rear end currently. A used one will work, just go with the parts that Mach 1 stated, they will work well. ~Brian

I apprecaite it. I do have a 7.5" I am looking to have one that can support 700+HP. I really do not want a 9 inch. Is there anywhere i can go and get a whole setup 31 spline. This will be a DAILY DRIVER. Thanks again.

I think the Ford F-150's use an 8.8 with a 31 spline. Dont know if it will fit under your stang though.

Its extremely easy to swap diffs and axles, so you shouldnt have any problems upgrading one.

Why are C-clip eliminators bad for street use?

Thanks,

Hey thanks so much. One last question. I found an 31 spline Auburn Pro diff., 31-spline axles, SVO rear alum. cover, and 3.73 gears. Now I need a housing to put them in right? Is there anywhere I can buy a new empty housing that I can put all theses in. Is there anything else I need to buy? Thanks again for all your help.

I think FRRP might sell an empty housing. why not go to a junkyard and get one, they junk the stock parts inside, and install yours?
