Thats easy...it slips and smells or one or the other. The only way I could describe the smell is to imagine brakes from hell getting slammed on at 300 miles an hour

I asked the same question the other day and
Mr.5.0 told me to put the car in 4th gear and slowly let the clutch out. The sooner the car stalls the better. If the engine revs high first, then stalls the clutch is bad. Hope this helps ------------------ '82 GT 351W,BBK shorties, Comp Cam,edelbrock intake 625 cfm carter carb. c-4 tranny w/ pro stick shifter. 4 core radiator Mallory distributor. 3:27 ......................... |

here's an easy way to know
get out on the highway put it in 5th at like 60 or so, then floor it.....most stangs can't break the tires loose at 60 in 5th, so if the revs jump up, then the clutch is slipping.....and 5th gear is usually the first one to go ------------------ SHaFTed |
