rear brake leak...
Just noticed that i got brake fluid leaking outta my passenger side rear brake caliper... seems like theres a rubber boot, that's got a hole in it...
was gonna get a brand new loaded caliper, and install it, just wondering: 1) could i just get a new rubber thingy? i.e. rebuild the caliper, rather than gettin a new one 2) any tips/tricks? - hear this jobs a pita... thanks... |

Calipers are a PITA to rebuild. Probably easiest to get a rebuilt one if available, otherwise you'll have to rebuild it.

It's funny you mention that, I had to replace my Rear Passenger side caliper because it froze up. I don't mean just a little either, this sucker wouldn't budge. I had a friend that owns an auto shop look at it, and after determining that he couldn't repair it or break it loose we decided to see how much it would take to get it to move again... after several wacks from a sledge, this thing still didn't move.... --that's what I call seized up! Anyways, I had to have my passenger rear caliper replaced.. and while we were there I had all my pads replaced.... They even tried to find one at parts stores in this area, and no one seems to carry it. I got the typical "You gotta go ask the dealer really nice for this part", Now I have one nice shiny bronze caliper and 3 dull ones...
