Post Manual rack

I know that some of you have manual racks, I have a few questions, cause I'm looking at getting one as my power steering pump is leaking.

First off, when the engine is off currently, with power rack, it is incredably hard to turn the wheel, whether your rolling or not; is it this hard with a true manual rack? I don't think so, just want to be sure, as I've never actualy used one. What is a good manual rack, and where can I obtain it? Maximum motorsports sells solid steering columns, is it worth it?

On installing, how hard is the rack to put in, and take out the old rack and pump? How hard is the column to install?

If you are not wanting to spend the $$$ for a flaming river you can get a used one off older cars, mine came from a 1979 4 banger mustang, it only cost $75 and came with everything. be sure they send you the steering coupling. you will love the rack, it is cleaner and easy enough for my 120 lb a$$ to drive with it everyday. there are atleast 4 older cars that used the manual racks, mustangs, granadas and some others, look for many internet junk yard sites that are in a network, that will make things alot easier for you,
