Default Engine fire, help needed

All,
I had a minor fire and managed to salvage everything except the wires that go from the top of the AC, over to the solonoid area. Between the two plugs is a diode. I need this entire wire, end to end. It's only about 2 feet long. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

I can't find a junkyard to help out- lazy ba$tard$ don't want to walk the yard for it, and won't let me go unaccompanied.

Does anyone know what that diode does? If someone has one laying around I'll pay for it.

Thanks-
Rob
