![]() OK maybe you guys can help with this problem me and my dad can not figure out. We have a really nice '65 GT with a 289 small block. It was completely restored and ran great for awhile. We then started noticing what we think to be a backfireing occuring. It makes a lous "click" sound and you can feel it in the gas pedal. The problem then turned into a bigger one. We couldnt get it started. We knew it had spark (checked that) knew it was getting gas( Checked that). So we decided to rebuild the carb in hopes that may be the problem...well it just got worse. Here is where we stand:
It will start on occasion but soon after it starts it begins to spew gas right out of the carb, quite a bit too. Maybe 10 sec. or so after we start it up. We thought maybe it was the timing but it is dead on. thats not it. Does anyone know why gas is pouring out of the carb? Please help us, were desperate. thanks!! -Chris ------------------ '99 firehawk #161 |
