![]() 65 clutch issues ?!
I have a 65 coupe with a 69 built 302. It was C-4 equipped and is in the process of being converted to a toploader. I have '66 pedals, z-bar, '66 bell housing, 67 Fairlane 390 toploader with correct Hurst pieces to complete a competition plus 4 shifter. My problem seems to be the z-bar. It appears to be too wide to fit between the ball stud mounted to the block, and the frame side bracket. Most parts are new or reproduction, and have been authenticated by stamping or casting numbers, and photo ID where possible. The z-bar came with the pedal assembly purchased off e-bay, and looks like the correct year -description based on CJ Pony Parts Inc. Catalog, pg 52, PN# CBE2. Is the ball stud boss location, different on a '69 block, making it necessary to use the '69 z-bar instead of the '66 ? I sure would appreciate any help or information anyone may have. It is all that is keeping me from finishing this project. Thanks!! |
