Default timing advance adjust?

i bought a new timing advance canister that is vaccume controled. i was wondering if anyone knew how much advnce i need. the vacume advance is a general one that is adjustable with a allen wrench.. right now i have it turned 3 rotations and it runs good but i just want to make sure its right. if anyone has an adjustable one and knows how many rotations i need on the allen wrench that would greatly be appreciated... thanks.
