Your contention that it can cause complications is just that, a contention. However, it just isn't the case.

I'm no psychologist but the fact you're scared of guns may be part of your objection to allowing responsible tax paying citizens to excercise their right. If I were scared of motor vehicles, I'd be hesitant to allow licensing of vehicles and people to drive them on the streets which may kill someone.

YES!!Exactly what organizations like the NRA have been saying for years now. There is no conclusive evidence saying that more guns equals more crime. The anti-gun orgainzations want to put out false statements about guns to help cause fear in people and further their agenda. Anti-gunners suck.

The anti-gunners also have those fatazz politicans with there 300 dollar suits in Washington to help them. I'd rather bury my guns than give'em to those azzholes.

I knew I'd have a reply. lol. I like to think in this "perfect world" scenario. Damn strait it's not a perfect world though. I also haven't the slightest clue what that license is that allows to you buy a firearm. So I was sorta talking about people in general. It appears that there's a completely different license for concealing that firearm. I know that there are flaws in my logic, trust me, I do and I know that law-abiding citizens need guns to fend off those who aren't on the law's side, because there's no way to remove a gun from a "criminal" or just an abusive owner. But like I said, I would like to think that humans can be better than what we are, but I know it'll never happen. We're both right, we just live in different worlds because my parents have shielded me from really bad neighborhoods (like most parents try to do), and you work as a police officer (and are older so have seen more) so you face the worst (I assume) more on a daily basis than I do. I hope you just understand where I'm coming from and I'm not here to argue that "guns are bad" and we should ban them. Because that's stupid. But it's also stupid that it's stupid.

if i HAD to go with a gun i would choose my luger 22. In the ER i have seen more damage done by .22 cal's than any other.

they bounce. and i can shoot someone in the kneecap just as well with a 22 as i can with a 50 cal eagle.

I currently have a CWP and my choice of carry weapon is a Sig Sauer .40 cal. model 92. and yes it is with me MOST of the time except for the places you cannot legally carry one.

It's great, and I 've had it for 4 years and just now plan to get my concealed... I'll probably never even carry it, but I'll take the class anyways...

You should check into the "Lady Smith" - excellent weapon. I believe they make a titanium model. Unbelievably light!

Lady smith is a great choice for a concealed gun.

My wife carries the .38 S&W bodygaurd.

Revolvers are what I recomend to those women who take my course. Especially if they do not practice gun failure, as with a automatic, or spend little time with guns.

Also I do not recomend carrying any weapon in a bag of any sort. For women, purse snaching is a common crime. "He stole my gun"

Fanny packs, or as we call them, "Fairy Packs" are also a great way to identify someone that has a gun. This informantion is known by good and bad.

Remember criminals practice all kinds of neat things in jail, to include: Strike points, how and where to stab you and how long you will live where stabbed. Also they practice disarming methods, gun, knife or just about anything. Nice huh? They know where you hide guns on your person and in your home.

Jail is a great place for higher learning, wonderful.

Well, when the Brady Bill was being proposed I took advantage of working in a 1,200 inmate county jail and went to the source themselves about affects of such a law. Mind you, I already knew what their answers were gonna be, but wanted to "officially" hear it from their own mouths. I was told by many that not only would the law be ineffective (not my point here since that's obvious), but many were reluctant to break into homes fearing armed homeowners. I find this to be valid since I now work the streets and take reports of B&E's and most victims are businesses after closing time. Not much fear of being shot when a place is vacant. The only thing they have to worry about is the place being equipped with an alarm.

Sounds like everyone pretty much agrees that you should be allowed. I own a handgun as well. I don't carry it with me anywhere. Me being a single female living alone, if anyone were to ever break into my apartment I feel that I would need to protect myself, so I have it in there. I just think people should be safe, but it's your choice as long as you are licensed to do so. I as well grew up around guns though. My father hunted all the time when I was younger, and my mom had a hand gun as well. I learned from an early age about guns. My parents always felt the need to educate me young, so I wouldn't get myself hurt or in trouble.

Check with your local law inforcement, but, last I heard as long as the sword is in a sheath, you can carry it. Like I say check into it, don't quote me on it.

As for concealed weapons, Id say get a Desert Eagle. You will never have to shoot anyone. Just pull it out and you will probably be left alone. Not by any means practicle, but it gets the pont across.

I know ablolutely nothing about pistols but after Leathal Weapon premiered, I had an infatuation with the Baretta 9mm. I have been considering a glock, but dont know what kind to get.

Youll have to check locally with the police and if it is legal, you have to take a course to be certified to have that previlage.

As for Texas Law...an illegal knife is classified as a multitude of things including:

A. knife with a blade over five and one-half inches;
B. hand instrument designed to cut or stab another by being
thrown
C. dagger, including but not limited to dirk, stiletto, and poniard;
D. bowie knife;
E. sword; or
F. spear.

The law also prohibits switchblades including autos and gravity knives.

The law, fortunately, makes no distinction between concealed carry or open carry for knives. However, I don't think you can get away with carrying a sword in Texas.

The only exemption I could think of would be if it was considered an antique, but even then it is questionable.

Interesting....In Mississippi you can legaly carry a loaded consealed firearm in the cabin of your vehicle without a permit
