Post Cam Poll, PLEASE VOTE!

OK everyone, please vote for which cam you'd choose for the following combination. A simple 1, 2, or "other" w/ cam name & specs will do just fine. BUT if you want to mention anything I'm all ears! I need to decide by Wednesday April 4th so please respond!

Here's the combo: (this should be everything you need to know)

Stock 302 block/pistons/crank
TFS Track Heat intake
TFS Twisted Wedge heads
65mm TB
Crane 1.6 roller rockers (Golds)
Kirban or Aeromotive AFPR (and guage)
255lph in-tank pump
stock #19s (see if they work, if not upgrade to #24s)
1 5/8ths unequal shorties
2 1/2" off-road H-pipe
2 1/2" cat-back
3.73s
5 speed
custom cold air pipe

PLEASE VOTE!!!

Here are the cam choices
1) TFS Stage 1 (TFS-5140200)
221*/225* duration @.050"
.499"/ .510" lift
lobe sep. 112

2) Lunati EFI Grind (51014)
218*/ 226* duration @ .050"
.500"/ .510" lift
lobe sep. 112

Note these cams spec exactly the same so if someone can explain why a duration should be higher or lower that would be a great help!

Thanks everyone!!!

I really hate chiming in on these topics as their are way too many thoings to cinsider but..........

I would go with the cam that has a little more duration, the TFS. This is the time that the valves are open which will make more power, but it also depends on the ramp rate of the cam as well, the low lift numbers are very important. My custom Anderson has a ton of duration, very fast ramp rates combined with a lot of lift which should make a lot of NA. Why not call Comp Cams and talk to their tech they are very good and the Xtreme Energy grinds are nice also.

I know that the Lunati cam is awesome. But the TFS does have a little more duration. If you are going for peak power numbers and plan on some track visits, then I vote for the TFS. If you plan on a lot of street driving go for the lesser duration. It is totally your choice though. But this is my opinion.

Blue Racer/Wolverine 1087:

222/232 @ .05, .510'/.534', 112 LSA

Good cam. Agressive lifts to match the increased duration. Good exhaust bias. Very streetable with a mean lope. Pulls hard all the way past 6000 rpm.

Only thing is power is going to start around 2800 rpm. That works great with my converter, but I don't know how it would be with your 5-speed.

But how fast can a stock block rev?

I'd say look into a custom cam from comp cams or lunati, call em up and tell them what you have and what you use the car for.
