![]() I went shopping today. I stopped at a few wrecking yards and found what could be the start of my pro-streeter. The last one had a 1978 Honda Civic CVCC I can get for $100 The interior has been stripped , no column, dashbord/gauges, seats, etc. There is also no drivetrain (and I could have used an anchor for my boat) but the whole entire body is there and the glass is perfect. They also had a 75 Mustang II minus the engine but otherwise whole. I can also take that home for another $100. The 'Stang II will make a good donor for the steering system, subframes and miscellaneous interior, such as seats and steering column. I also went to see my neighbor who has a 71 Torino in his backyard. The Torino is complete but doesn't run it's not quite a 490 but it is a 460 C6 combo. The diff will also work as it is a 10 incher and could be narrowed. I can get this car for $300. Now for $500 I'll have a good head start. I'll have to wait a few months to save money for the rebuild of the engine/trans and in the mean time I will hit the swap meets for a tunnel ram. The original engine is advertised hp ratine of 208, I am pushing for at least 400 hp. I think this a long job. I think this might be a cheap one to build, I will try to keep it to a minimum but if you've been there before you always go way over budget.
