Unhappy reaching out

anyone know how it feels to be alone?? well i do and it's probly the worse feeling
that a person can have. now that my moms gone when i come home it's to an empty house
cause my brother is busy working or being out with his friends.
Ive never been one to make many friend at all cause of my shyness. When i'm online
it's like my one little world where i have milions of friend but when it's time to shutdown
then they all disappear with one click and then i am alone again!
Another thing cause of my being shy is that i don't speak up and tend to be ignored
and/or not noticed much at all.
Is this loneliness or depression?? except for the empty house part i have felt like this
for a long time. i'd give anything to have someone call me and/or ask me to go do soemthing but
it's usualy me that does it, (when i get the nerve).

Cool

Mike,

I know how ya feel guy,I really and truely do.The sad fact of things for me is this,in my little town of 6000 people, there is not much to do in this town that consists mostly of retirement folks.

There are more bars and gas stations in town here then anything else. When doin my shopping,I simple gotta leave town because there's no place to shop for a selection wether it be for clothes, electronics, etc, etc. It's just a dead town. Most people here do the bar scene--one word BLAH

Myself I'd rather find a dance club and dance the whole darn night but thats hard to do when all your friends are either married or have moved away.Heck I love concerts too,but it's no fun going if ya gotta go by yourself I rent alotta movies,go shopping, listen to music, weight train, during the winter months.
During the summer it's not so bad, doin the car show scene, grilling out, goin to the drag races along with everything else.

But I'll admit Mike, myself I'm stuck doin most things bymyself too.

Thats what I intend on doin though,is moving away to a more exciting atmosphere, because quite frankly this town dont cut it

Its a natural human feeling bro! We all experince this in our life time, once or another or a lot. It could very well be depression as well, I for the longest had that and anxiety disorder. So many people go untreated too. Not saying it is, just I had social phobia and crap, but a visit to a physcatrist really helped. Your not crazy if you go (i mean crazy people dont know there crazy ) If you wanna look into that leme know. I'm sure once others read your post they'll have input on this subject as well. I took zoloft for a bit, now I'm on another pill and it changed my life. In meeting people, find some local mustang or hot rod groups, and dont be afraid to shake hands. Hell if you like mustangs, others gotta like you too , thx for posting and keep it up.

Talking :)

Hi Mike!
I'm really pissed right now cuz my time expired and I have to type this all over again, BUT.....thats okay....

I hope I remember all I said....Prolly what you are expieriencing is a combination of lonliness and depression, which you can BET that this being the Holiday Season....you are going to expierience being in the situation you are in. Losing someone in your life so close to you, and missing them....and this goes for ANY situation when you are missing someone so terribly for whatever reasons!

One of the reasons I got Racie last weekend, I missed not having my dogs around all the time. They come when I get Caitlin 3 nights a week(and I'm not having any more babies!) so I got the puppy! SHE HAS BEEN GREAT! They are a GREAT diversion!!!! I"m not telling you to go out and get a puppy, but they do say that dog owners tend to have lower blood pressure and be generally happier....And when you see that cute little face, you just gotta smile! Its like having a baby in the house again, but she is really great and makes everything better!

As far as your shyness...thats just your personality. And, you SHOULD make those phone calls when your wanting to go out or want company. The more you do it, the more you will be comfortable with it. Be sure to let your friends know how you feel and to call you when somethings going on ..I"m SURE they will understand!!!!!

Also, if you have any projects around your house you've been wanting to do, NOW would be a good time to do them, or start them....It keeps your mind busy, and is a GREAT sense of accomplishment when you have it done! I'm contemplating dragging my Xmas Stuff out of the attic after I get my Lotto Ticket for tonight out of Racies mouth!

Find some of your favorite music and CRANK IT WAAAAAAY UP!!!! OR....go to the Video Store, rent ALL OF CHEECH AND CHONGS MOVIES...make you a drink and watch them....I guarentee, that'll make you smile!!!! We were talking about that at Autorama yesterday....I might go get them myself soon, have not seen them in a long time!

AND...if you ever wanna talk, I think youve got my #'s....also, you need to PM me your addy again...I need to pay bills tomorrow, and I NEED to get the $10 I owe you for the video in the mail! I PROMISE...i'm not a mooch!
REALLY, If you ever wanna talk, pleeeez dont hesitate to call me!!!!! Have a great evening!!!! Talk to you soon!
TNT
THIS SHOULD MAKE YOU SMILE!!!!

Hey Mike, you're not alone bro... I get the same way at times.

I usually go out to the garage and crank up some tunes and piddle around with my car or whatever other projects I might have going at the time.

I'm not much into going to the bars anyone since I quit drinking alcohol in any way, shape, or form... I'm totally sober these days, which also makes for a very boring time.

Watching a Cheech and Chong movie would make me even more depressed, watching them get high and what not, lol. Been there, done that... not a very productive hobby I've realized.

I'm not not much fun anymore, I guess Most of my buddies that I used to run around with are still doing the same thing they did in 'high' school and I'd rather not associate with them for that one simple reason. Soooo, here I sit staring at a computer screen, getting ready to go out to the garage and work on the 'stang... on a Sat. night, of all nights.

Find something to do, get out of the house and get away from your computer... go for a cruise and jam out to some tunes.

Snap out of it bro ...easier said than done, I know.

Get a cat.

I live by myself in a 3 story condo, and have for 8 or 9 years now (except for that trip down Hell Lane when my ex lived here for a year), and I love it. I would probably lose my mind though, if it wasn't for my cats. Dogs are cool, but cats are better for a single guy. They are virtually zero maintenance (unless you get a diabetic one like I did), so if you get busy, you don't need to stress over them. They have made my life very enjoyable, and quite honestly, have me prefering them to humans, most of the time. lol.

My Mother is the only family I have, and I don't know how I'm going to handle things when she dies. She is the most important woman in my life, and I would do anything she asked, even though she never does. She's an awesome woman, and I love her endlessly. Unfortunately, she lives near Melbourne, Florida, which means I not only have to do my own laundry (lol), but I don't get to see her very often. I usually go there for a couple weeks at Christmas every year, but that's not going to happen this year, and it makes me sad. I get sad sometimes when I feel like I'm all alone, too, but 9 times out of 10, a cat jumps in my lap before that thought has the chance to go from sadness to depression, and life is good again.

I have grown to love being single, and with only one brief exception, haven't even given marriage a passing thought for 3 years. I'm too selfish. I like things my way, and I don't have to answer to anybody. I am free to come and go as I please, but I find myself staying at home most of the time, by choice.

Going out and meeting people is a great idea, but that's easy for socialites to suggest. It's harder for those of us that don't do well in large arenas. Go at your own pace, and don't set any expectations. The most important thing in the world, IMO, is to find yourself, and discover who you are. Once you love yourself, the rest is easy.

I'm serious about the cat, too. I have seven.

Call me anytime.

Take care,
~Chris

Christine: take the $10 and buy the newest member of you family another sweater.

Marty: you shy?? no way!!! your so outgoing and talkative here

Chris: I may just do that. i'm gonna check the local shelters around here and see if anything "catches my eyes"

Hope you find a "friend." Like Chris said , a pet can do a lot for you. Just wait until the little one, cat, dog, whatever, starts biting your toes while your trying to type your world-changing view on the Works! You'll never be depressed again!
