NoSlow, you may not believe this, but back around '67 or 68, I actually got to drive my brother in law's '66 A.C. Cobra 289 4 speed, original aluminum body and all. Only for about 30 minutes. I smoked them a couple of times in 1 st and 2 nd, no real work out.

I also drove his '67 Ferrari 330 GT, a front engine V-12. It was quick but he was in the car so only moderate poking was acceptable.

The last fast car I drove was my son's father in law's C5 '00 Vette. It was pretty fast and really sweet. Would break the tires loose in 1 st or 2 nd at will. Couldn't do that much as he was in the car with me and it's his baby.

Soon, when I get my new heads, I hope to be in that league.

Not worth $38,000++? Uh???? I saw a Cobra more than that and I KNOW a COBRA does not run 9's. Now it's $40,000+, but what's the reserve on it?

I remember reading about that car in MM&FF I believe. If I remeber correctly the article said that it belonged to the son of some saudi arabian millionaire who was going to school in america. He gave some shop a blank check and said have fun!! Damn, why can't I do that..........Oh yeah I'm in college!!

Supposedly, he really does drive it everyday b/c it has an electronic wastegate where he can "turn down" the turbo. That must suck to turn down your turbo(s). Oh well, maybe someday.
Just imagine driving down the interstate in 6th gear at about 80mph, mashing the throttle, and smoking the tires. That car could probably do that pretty easily. Wow.

I could have gone without knowing a Saudi owned the car!! As far as I'm concerned.. I stick to my idea of taking all thier land and making it the 51st state.. I have no love for any of those camel jockeys!
