The only problem I had with the post count was with a few members who had three or four thousand posts, thinking they were somehow superior to the people who only had three or four hundred. Not all of the top posters were like this, just a few. I dont know if this is going to change that or not, but it cant hurt. I could care less about the postwhores, and the 'lol posts'. I try to rate members by the quality of the information they give. (only in the technical forums)

Even places where post counts are shown, I never paid attention to them, the content of the post is what matters to me.

(okay except for Zach at svtperformance...over 10k posts in 2 years, I pick on him for it all the time LOL)

WHO CARES, THERES MORE TO LIFE THEN A POST COUNT.....
Just my 2 cents, man everybody getting upset over something that is just a #. Myself I like it here just to be able to chat with a bunch of really cool, great, people. So lets get on with life and enjoy Musttang Message Borad and end this constant nonsence. Odie

Hey Tireburner, when I am talking to you or about you, I will address you. Dont say that my opinion on this matter is crap. It is what I have felt and dealt with firsthand.

'Er wait, maybe this is exactly what I am talking about.

I don't think I'm am superior to you. And neither does anyone else because their post count is higher than yours. There are only a handful of MW'ers on here with more than 1500 or so posts.......and they are all top notch guys(or girls).

Please link us all to a thread, any thread, where a member with several thousands posts looked down you you and thought you were inferior to him because of his post number.

Exclamation

It's not that I'm upset-going-to-jump-off-a-bridge about it, it was just a fun thing, that really doesn't mean anything. It's NOT gonna change my life if it's not there, trust me I do have better things to do with my time than worry about a post count, it was just fun, that's all! I know you can click on the profile to see it, but, man, I'm lazy!
Ask tireburner, he'll tell ya!!!
Don't worry, I still think MW is the best, no doubt about that! Carry on! I'm excited to see the new version of the board, I hope it's cool enough to upgrade!

I find this pretty strange. This message board is here to please the users of it correct?

It seems to me the majority of the people liked the post count.

So why remove it?

Give an option to have it displayed or not. (If the software allows it)

Default I don't mind it being gone

I have only been here for a few months and have only racked up 150 posts or so, but come on, does it REALLY matter? I was one of the people who wanted the post count to stay, but it doesn't mean that much. I am still able to talk to people, and have any questions I have answered, it only seems to change the appearance of the boards IMO. Personally, I have yet to feel inferior to ANYONE here because of a post count. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful anytime I had any questions, even if they were stupid (I mean stupid questions). I am 21, and nobody made me feel inferior to them because of my lack of knowledge either, which is hard to find!

Now, I am assuming that because I am a guy, I didn't get the welcome committee that some of the women get, but that's understandable I think anyone who really cares about getting valuable FREE information about their cars, and about meeting cool people, will not let this change affect them. I for one, will not let it affect me, I'll still be lurking in the shadows reading the posts day in and out.

Sorry if I offended anyone, I'm not intentionally trying to, but I just had to vent. Thanks, Keith.

tireburner, Belle I take it you guys didnt see the facetiousness in my last statement. Let me clarify. I do not think tireburner was acting superior to me because his post count versus mine. That statement was thrown in with a hint of sacrasm that I thought would be detected.

tireburner I dont need to, nor do I have the time to dig up old threads where I thought I was looked down on, or where my opinion wasnt taken seriously, because of low post count. Whether you guys think it happened or not, it is completely subjective. You guys might not see it, whereas I might. Keep in mind, this was never in BOL, just in the technical forums.

Anyone else care to disect and twist everything I say?

Andy

Thus presenting the difficulty of expression through the medium of text.... Sarcasm is easily lost. After a while, I just gave up on humor unless it's BLATENT humor that even a small child could detect.

Um, what exactly do you mean by "twist"? Could you please elaborate on that? I'm feeling a little hostility in there.....

So what you saying is that the comments made were so vague and non-exsistant that many wouldn't see them as what you do?

929 hehhe.... Nah, just more sacrasm that wasnt detected...lol....

tireburner No that is not what I am saying. I am saying that since it was directed to nobody other than me, anyone else probably wouldnt take it that way.

Is it just me, or is this getting a little redundant? I dont think I have ever posted so many replies in a single thread before...lol...

I was under the impression it had been resolved a month ago, but apparently someone kept whining about it. Kinda funny how it's a bigger deal/topic now that it was while it was here. Go figure.

Take care,
~Chris
