I load the car for the track (skinnies no jack or anything in the car,I bring my helmet and nomex fill it full of gas) and drive to the dump I then drive on the scale and tell the guy just weighting the car and then i pull around to the second leaving scale and get the weights the guys here dont mind because then they can see how accurate the two scale are like to .001 of a kilogram phone the dump or if you have a way scale for truckers see if they will let you roll over it .

dont know about the doorjam but gross vehicle weight takes into account passengers

Lightbulb Weighty question

The GVW sticker on the door indicates how much the car can safely carry (total vehicle weight) based on the tires and suspension it came with from the factory. Generally, about 800 pounds is the average 'load' a Mustang can safely carry.

A '96 Mustang V-8 weighs around 3400 pounds but, as suggested in a prior post, a trip to the local dump or scrap metal yard scale (and a small fee0 will tell you exactly what your car weighs with no guessing, if this is really important to you.
