I just bought a 302 from an early 80's Cougar and found out when i picked it up that it had a throttle body setup(TBI), not a carb. I'd like to use a carb, because the throttle body on this particular engine (1983) is very restrictive, and I'd like to be able to use a 600cfm 4bbl carb instead. I will also replace the cam and cylindar heads as well, so its not like I think that the throttle body is the source of all evil.

Unbolt the old, remove it, clean the gasket surfaces, install new gaskets and parts, and you're done.

What aren't you sure of? Take care, -Chris

I just thought it would be more involved that just taking off the EFI setup and slapping on new heads and intake, thats all.

Has anybody done anything like this before? |

It only becomes complicated when you make that kind of switch but keep the vehicle. Since it's just the engine, treat it like any other. Very simple!

			Enjoy! Take care, -Chris
