What do you guys think of the P.I. intake swap?
As many may know, theres alot people replacing the 96-98 NPI intake with the P.I. intake. I'm debating doing the swap without adapter plates. I have not seen anyone locally do the swap so I have some reservations. Some say use RTV some say not to, some say the EEC has to be tweaked, some say it doesn't. Question is, have any of you personally seen anyone have success without adapter plates?
(needed to post, it's getting slow on this board)

I did this mod a few K miles ago with no problems. No leaks, problems of any kind. Most of the problems arise from not re connecting the vaccum lines correctly. There is way more power above 3K with this simple inexpensive mod. I also did the cam swap ( SHM 2730's ) using the AFM cam tool. I did the swap with no help and had "0" problems. The cams again added mucho power above 3K. There is no need to mess with the EEC. It will find the new A/F curve after a few miles of running. I reprogrammed my chip to take full advantage of my new combo. Any NPI guy should do this MOD ( intake ) even if you plan on going with the PI heads ( you'll need intake anyways ). This is the best and cheapest mod for our cars there is. ( besides gears ) DO IT NOW!! Don't let it scare you!
Dyno before intake/cams = 225 rwhp ( P&P NPI Heads, many mods ) Dyno after intake/cams = 261 rwhp ( lots of mods, new chip ) pi intake $ 80 - $100 , pi cams $ 75- $100 = 25 - 30 rwhp easy!!
