Angry 9 inch ford???????

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the front housing off of one of these things? I'm helped a buddy of mine pull his rear end out so we'd have more room to work with it. It just seems like its in a bind. We've been working screwdrivers in all around it and we got it about a 1/4 of an inch off but thats about it. Any body come up with a good way to get these off?

Did you pull both axles out of the housing, first? If the axles are out, pry from two opposing sides of the third-member at the same time, so that the third-member comes out of the housing evenly.

I wasn't aware that ford 9" rears had a cover. Unless it's custom made and it;s on the back. The third member pulls out the front as far as I'm aware. And that's the only access point to the rear end. Maybe you have an 8.8 which has a cover on the rear.(I think)
