Question Backfiring? Need help.

My car has become hard to start lately and I just cleaned the TB, EGR valve, and all that stuff not too long ago, and reset the TPS. I reset the computer after I was finished. It was running GREAT after that, but here in the last week or so it has been cold natured and hesitating a bit when you first take off. When I get to around 1000 RPM or so it makes a popping noise then it gains a little power and does this a couple times to about 1400 RPM or so. From there on up the RPM range it's fine. This noise sounds like it's coming from the lower driver's side of the engine, but that just seems too weird.

The car has new plugs, cap, and rotor. A new Blaster coil, and the K&N was cleaned and re-lubed recently. What could be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah =P
It's a 90LX 5.0. The engine is stock and I recently installed a set of L/T headers and full 2 1/2" exhaust.

you hook back up the o2 sensors after that exhaust upgrade? That might explain the computer reset helping.

Yeah, they are hooked back up. But I do have a check engine light on now and I was guessing it was my O2 sensor. I'll head down and get a new pair and see if that helps.
