![]() OK. I've got the engine, trans and rear-end swapped from my '86 convertible to the '93 GT. It didn't quite have the "Light-em-up-ability" of the convertible, plus I was getting some pinging on the top end. Timing was set to 16 just like it was on the '86. So I went to swap the computer and I find out the '93 already has an A3M with Hypertech Power Module on it. The '86 has the A3M1. I know most of you don't like the generic chips, but...
1) Since I already have it should I use the Hypertech? If I do, should I set the base timing back to 10? 2) Is there any difference between the A3M and the A3M1? 3) Would an A9L make a big difference? ------------------ 93 GT, CCM long block, GT40P heads, Crane 2031, 1.7 RR's, Moroso cold air, 73mm Vortech, 65mm TB, Cobra intake, 24# injectors, MSD 6AL, MAC GT40P headers, 2-1/2" BBK H-pipe (w/cats), Flowmasters, 3.55s, B&M Ripper shifter, Black Magic fan |

![]() Chuck the chip.
The power you are getting it is because it bumps your timing internally. Yes, you'll have to drop your timing back down to 10* initial if you put the chip in. |

![]() would you have to put the timing back to 10 if you put a chip in with 14 timing, what will happen if your timing is @ 14 when you put the chip in?

Whatever your timing is set at..the chip will advance it another 2-4 degrees. so if your on 14* then it's like running 16*-18* timing. ------------------ 4.10's,long tubes & 75 shot...Goes 12.50's Check it out at http://www.burnouts.stangnet.com 11's coming soon!!!!
