That's excellent for that motor! Way to go, you must be really happy! Nice pic too, except for that (Ahem!) red bulb. hehehehe

Congrats dude!

Congrats. Its an awesome feeling when a combination starts to come together. It makes all that blood, sweat, tears and cold hard cash somehow seem worthwhile.

My car recently went it's best 60' ever at the FFW Norwalk event. Check out the video at http://home.neo.rr.com/chambersracin...2ndQualNRP.wmv and watch it carry the wheels to the tree. Not too shabby for a 308ci NA with a 650 carb, flat top pistons and .500" cam, all propelling a slushbox AOD!

Thanks Jester, And Jeff i just saw the article in the MMFF congrats you must feel very proud awesome what you do with that 306 at 8500 rpms. And what u guys thing to put the 1.7 rockers on my engine.

Stang_ROTY 07-30-2004 05:27 PM

Very, very impressive. I know the great feeling that you must have gotten when you knew all the blood, sweat, and knuckle scrapes was worth it. Is this a street car?

Awesome times Cucho! As far as the rocker arms go, since you will be increasing your total valve lift, make sure you have the clearance between the pistons and valves, and also double check the valvetrain geometry to ensure there are no outages there.

Well im not use this car in the street i got to use a high octane gas. And about the rocker arms for example rigth now with 1.6 rocker i got 574 in and 594 ex, with the 1.7 rocker ill do this calculate 574/1.6=358.75*1.7=609 intake, 594/1.6=371.25*1.7=631 exahust. Am I rigth with this calc.
Thanks

60 over stock block? Those walls are kinda thin! Congrats on your success.

Fostang 08-03-2004 10:57 PM

Sweet and in Mexico.

What's the elevation? I know gas quality sucks :(.

tmoss 08-04-2004 07:10 AM

Is that track in Mexico? Didn't know there was enough interest/participants/spectators to fund and support a track in Mexico!

cucho 08-05-2004 10:38 AM

Yeah my friends this track is in Mexico, my place is in Sonora a state of Mexico maybe you guys knew Rocky point is a beach near from my city, well the elevation here is 700 ft , and there is a lot of people who likes drag cars and guess what in the events are like 140 pilots and only 5 people included myself are FORD guys all the people ran chevys, so imagine that lot of chevy racers for me, And about the gas yeah is not a good fuel for my car i got to travel to USA and bring down here a good fuel .

Sonora is freakin hot during the day and cold during the night.

Straight desert.

I wonder what that car could do at sea level and with a good temperature.

Yeah there are plenty of racers is mexico.

I trailored one of my cars one year and stayed with family.

Only reason for the taking the car is that some people wanted to run for cash. So I showed up with 110 octane gas and pullied at 14 psi.
