cross threaded, yikes!!!!

while installing my ported e7's e-cam and edelbrock performer rpm intake i cross threaded the hole in the top of the lower intake for the metal heater tube. i think i only got the top couple threads i tried to run it after i saw what i did but it leaks like a sieve. is there a way to sleeve it or how would i go about trying to retap it. any advice would be appreciated being that i don't have 500 bucks to replace it and the the stock one isn't an option either. thanks

oh yeah one more thing, can i plug the hole on top of the lower intake with an oversized bolt and then run the ugly black heater tube off of something else?

If it's only the top couple of threads, you might be able to clean it up with a tap. I'd run a tap thru there and use plenty of high temp silicone on the tube when you reinstall it. If the threads are completely ruined, you might have to drill the hole out and tap it for a helicoil.

If all else fails, have the manifold tapped for a 3/4 NPT at the machine shop. Then have them get a 3/4 pipe plug and drill and tap it for the 1/2" NPT. Be sure to use thread sealant or teflon tape.
