When i got my car it came with a hurst shifter in it. I think there are two shifters Hurst offers for the mustang, but i forget the names of the two.
The shifter in my car has eaten the inner shift boot, but i don't much mind. The shifter has a very firm, notchy feel that i used to hate, but i love it now because when i really slam the gears i works perfect and slides right in.
I guess you have to figure out what you can live with and what you can't stand.
