My car flat out runs crappy ![]() I have noticed a small drip where the front of the tranny meets whatever it meets.. Why is my engine consuming so much oil? The exhaust doesnt blow smoke. Andy |

![]() How many miles on the car? Probably needs to be rebuilt. Are you sure its dripping motor oil, not tranny fluid? I'd run a compression test and check your spark plugs for oil, if everything is fine then you need to get that leak looked at before you completely fry the motor.

![]() If the drip truly is coming from the "front" of the transmission I'd say you have a blown rear main seal. Is there lots of oil on the undercarriage of the car from the trans back? A blown seal actually leaks more while your running down the road, under pressure than when it is sitting in your driveway.
