Post My Summit one wire race alternator arrived

I got my 100amp alternator from Summit today and went to install it, thinking it would be a direct bolt on....NOPE!!
My first problem was that my engine is an early 351W and not a 5.0 for which it was meant for. I am going to have to grind some metal off the lower bracket for the fins to clear it. I also need an inch shorter alternator belt because I have to also move the lower bracket down. The two alternators "look" alike but there are slight differences that require these mods.
Tomorrow I will take my bracket to work and grind it down and try again tomorrow night.
It would be a direct fit for a 5.0
