![]() I have a set of 93 Cobra rims that I plan on putting on my car in the next month or so. The tires I plan on using are:
Front: 245/45/17 Nitto 555 Rear: 245/45/17 Nitto 555R Will I have any problems with rubbing on either the front or rear?? Will this combination fit without any problems?? I believe the rims are 17x7.5 if I remember correctly.

![]() i was told once that the rear would need spacers something about the diff in drum and disc i was considering them at one point for my car
one of the auctions i looked at on ebay the guy said they were needed and he would include the spacers with the sale i would imagine the backspacing on the wheel was set up to compensate for the axles being longer to run the rear disc

![]() Yeah the wheels aren't too big, and should be a great addition to your mustang. Post pics when you get em on.

![]() stang crazy i noticed you live in pa i just wanted to let you know that in pa using spacers is technicly illegal and your car may not pass inspection hopefully you are familar with your insp mechanic then it prob wont be a problem just make sure you have threads showing when the lug nut is tight
ie you may need longer studs

![]() I just bought an 89 GT convertable with a Cobra ground effects kit and polished Cobra wheels. I thought I noticed the rear wheels sitting inboard a little it has the original drum brakes in the rear, thanks for the post it helped me out!! My car has 255's all the way around and the front inner fenders have been removed (I will be changing that) the rears rub a little bit on the inner well. Anybody know if 265's or 275's will fit in the rear with spacers?

![]() It sounds like you're going to have a pretty mean car saywhenn94. If you decide not to use the 393, I can take it off your hands for you

![]() For the past 2 years I've been building a replica of the '93 Cobra I used to own. I've done tons of research on the car, so here's some information on the rims. In the front you will have to use '93 Cobra specific rotors. They have a taller "hat" than the GT rotor. Caliper is the same. Also, I don't remember what year you said your car was, but if it was older than a '91 you should get new fenders (inners and outers). Pre '91 has a smaller wheel opening than '91-'93. For the rear, I agonized about using spacers. There's about a 5/8" difference (per side) in rear width between the drum rear and the disc rear. Luckily for me, I came across a burned (probably insurance job) Cobra and bought the rear out of it. I would strongly recommend NOT using spacers. Besides potentially being illegal, they are EXTREMELY dangerous. They put an incredible amount of stress on the studs. I'm not sure, but I believe some of the aftermarket rear disc brake kits will give you the correct offset. Check with Baer Brakes. They make a nice kit. My advice is based on what I'm doing to my car and my desire to make my car look and handle like my old Cobra. I've been told I'm a little obssesive when it comes to details, so keep that in mind. Good luck!

![]() My tires arrived this morning. I'm going to get them mounted this weekend. Once they're mounted on the rims, I'm going to test fit them to see if I can see potential problems. If it comes down to it, I'll get a rear disc brake conversion kit so everything fits. I'm sure I'll have some questions after the test fit...
