Default Fixing the cobra computer problem

I have heard from alot of people that the 94 cobra has a bad computer. I was wondering what options i have to fix it. So far all i have heard is that i can put an aol A9L in it that will cost like 100-200 but i will need a harness for it that costs like 400 more. 600 sounds like it is more expensive than what the swap is worth. Also i have heard you can have a chip made that will fix it, but i still plan on doing some more stuff to my car, and i dont want to have to get another chip later on. Are there any other options? or is the swap really worth $600?
