Post speed density setup, could this work? has anyone tried?

I see that most aftermarket EFI systems are a speed density setup. Most of them utilize some sort of GM MAP sensor, usually a 1,2, or 3 bar setup depending on boost. Does anybody know/have tried adapting one of these MAP sensors to a 87-88 5.0 Speed density setup? Could this possibly work in a boosted situation if both the Ford and GM MAP sensor used the same ranges? I would like your opinions and thoughts would be greaty appreciated as Im currently buidling a 5.8 Twin turbo 78 Fairmont, and it needs to be EFI. THANKS

I'm pretty sure SD can be made to work with that combo, yes. You'll need a custom burned chip, and you'll lose some of the safety factors the MAF setup would provide. They do make a supercharger kit for SD.

Hehehe, '78 Fairmont. Oh, the memories. Those are some of the lightest cars ever built. Make sure you get your pilots license first.

Take care,
