Default My engine is crazy! heeelp.

(sorry for my english first) When I start my engine it goes up to 2800-3000 rpm. After 3-4 times it goes up to 1500-1600rpm but newer under. When I put down the brakepedal it goes up a few hundred rpm. It must be some vacum problem, is it from the brakes or....where should I start. Itīs not a trottleproblem.

Default 12 Hour later....

After working with the car tha last evening....canīt find the problem. Should I remowe the intake and check all the vacum lines? Or can I remowe the brakevacum and test the car without powerbrakes?

Hello Joakim,

Try spraying some carburator cleaner ( I prefer starting fluid but, carb cleaner is safer ) at the suspected vacuum leaks and see if your idle changes. I would suspect that with the rpm numbers you're having it will be a fairly big leak. I would start with the brake booster system like you suspect.

I suggest investing in a EEC tester, they are around $30 bucks, it's like the American Express card for 5.0 owners, "Never leave home without it", because you are speed density, your engine sensors must be in top shape, also get rid of any low temp thermostats and set timing at 10 degrees
