Is it worth it?
Hey everyone,
I have been out of the stang community for the longest time. I'm currently looking at this one for sale. It's a 1990 5.0, its got an h-pipe, flowmasters, 93 cobra tranny, centerforce clutch, msd ignition, electric fan. The car is in decent condition some rust spots. The airbag light comes on and flicker 7 times, and the check engine light comes on sometimes. The dash lights dont work (fuse?). And the car doesn't want to start on the first crank.......... but does so on the second. The guy is asking $2500 for it. What do you guys think? Thanks for your time. Philip

Hmmm..
I would probably pass, but you could probably talk him down. We need to know more about the motor and where the rust is. There are a lot more things to look for on these cars. Rear main seal, compression, codes, quarter windows, tires, etc... May be a good idea to get a mechanic to check this one out if you are serious about buying it. Get someone on here to run a carfax for you as well.

It needs a fuel pump, too.
Take care, ~Chris

How many miles does it have on it?
What do you plan to use it for? Daily driver? Weekend warrior? My first thought is that $2,500 is a bit much for the general conditions that you described. If you can provide us with some more info, we can give you more well-formed opinions. E

Hey,
I'm going to call him later to see if he will take $2k for it. The rust spots arent bad, they are like surface rust. It's going to be my daily driver. My dad is a mechanic and looked at it with me. He said that he thought everything was fine with it. I just wanted to ask you guys to see what you thought. I hope that he will take $2k for it. Thanks for your help. Philip
