Drives like new, lanches hard
I could not pay anyone to weld my torque boxes, so I bought a wire feed machine. Me and a freind spent all day yesterday under the ol wagon welding, pushing, beating, fixing, cussing, sweating. I am so pleased with the way my car feels now that it is finally repaired. We also installed new bushings. And while we were in there I boxed the uppers, lowers been done. 250,000 miles and the last ten years of dragg racing had done some severe damage. It feels like it launches harded, I will not know for sure till wed. nite. If your car occasionaly sways side to side, and you blame it on the road, or the big tires. Mine don't do it anymore, same tires, same road. I can not stress enough how important this is to do. I took ten years too long to do mine. It should be done at the same time as sub frame connectors.

This home done stuff is really helpful ... you've ironed out all the crap (the parts where you did all the cussing) so the rest of us don't have to go through it, but WE NEED PICTURES MAN !!! By the way if you couldn't afford to have someone weld for you, how did you afford a wire feed machine ?? |

What I ment by that, was that I could not buy a welder. They were all busy. 3-4 weeks wait. I found a crack head with a good machine complete, gas, hood, 120vac machine, wire, complete... He needed some money, $250.00. I sold the air shifter off my banshee today for $200.00, so I only used 50.00 out of pocket. Which I was not going to pass up. I will find the charger for my digital and get yall some pics.

wow, I really need to get that done then.
I was at the track today and almost smacked the wall a few times and had to let out of it completely on 2 runs. One was my best 60ft ever too (1.63) Pressure in my 26x10 hooiser slicks was 13.5psi and it was really wobbly about 400ft and after, then I air'd them up to 17 and it was better, but still felt unsafe. Do you think it'll fix most of my problem to if I re-inforce them? I've already got MAC upper and lower control arms, so that part's done. I noticed that my car started swaying in the rear awhile ago, and then I realized it started after I swapped to a T-5 and started launching hard on slicks. I musta ripped those puppies pretty bad.
