ignition replacement??asap
I have a 1989 5.0 conv. and I lost my keys...I broke into my own car and plan on getting the door lock tumblers replaced to solve this part of my problem. However, the ignition I was just going to replace as I did on my 84 Mustang years ago. My car has a pin in the ignition that requires the key to be in the run position in order to remove the ignition cylinder...well I don't have the key to do this! What do I need to do to get this thing out...my guess is to drill that pin out with a Dremel tool. Any help would be greatly appreciated- so that I can drive this thing again!

Don't drill the pin, drill out the lock and tumbler (where the key goes). Just be careful, and don't drill any deeper than the depth of the key. With that removed, you will be able to rotate the assembly.
